Ana Ivanovic has come a long way in a short period of time - a very short period of time.
Two years ago, the 17-year-old Belgrade, Serbia native hadn't even played in a professional tournament. In fact, that pro debut didn't come until August of 2003 when she reached the semifinals at the ITF Women's Circuit event in Bucharest, Romania.
This week Ana moved up two places to #36 in the in the world ranking released by the Women's Tennis Association on Monday. Interesting fact is that Ana saw her ranking rise without picking up a racquet.
After making the quarterfinals at the NASDAQ-100 Open in Miami, Ana moved up 14 places to reach a career-high ranking of 38.
Ana is the third biggest achiever in the current top 100. Kim Klijsters moved up 21 places to 17th and Catalina Castano moved up 33 places to 78th.
