Ana set for Tokyo defence Jan 30th 2015

Ana has entered the Toray Pan Pacific Open, which takes place in Tokyo during September 21-27. She is the defending champion at the $1,000,000 event.

With this entry, Ana's 2015 schedule is finalized, although more tournaments may be added.

Ana to make Birmingham return Jan 28th 2015

Ana has entered the AEGON Classic in Birmingham, a grass court event that takes places two weeks before Wimbledon.

Ana is the defending champion at the $731,000 event: she won it last year for the loss of just 21 games.

December competition winner Jan 24th 2015

The winner of the December competition is Jelena Milenkovic from Austria. She correctly gave "10" as the answer to the question, "How many times has Ana competed in the women's singles competition of the Australian Open?"

(This was the correct answer while the competition was live; the answer as of today is of course 11, following Ana's participation in the tournament in January 2015).

Ana to rest due to injury Jan 21st 2015

Ana suffered a broken toe prior to the Australian Open. Consequently she will rest for the next fortnight, and will be unavailable for Serbia’s Fed Cup Group I campaign in Budapest at the start of next month.
  

Ana stunned by Hradecka Jan 19th 2015

Ana suffered a shock 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 defeat to world No.141 Lucie Hradecka in the first round of the Australian Open. The Czech took all five of her break point chances as Ana became the first top five seeded player to lose in the opening round in Melbourne since Jennifer Capriati in 2003.

Ana takes on world No.141 Lucie Hradecka in the first round of the Australian Open, which begins on Monday.

Hradecka, formerly No.4 in the world in doubles, qualified here by winning three matches. The 29-year-old Czech has never gone beyond the second round of a Grand Slam.

Ana has begun the year where she left off in 2014, losing a high-quality final in Brisbane to world No.2 Maria Sharapova.

Ana to take on qualifier at Australian Open Jan 16th 2015

Ana has been drawn against a qualifier in the first round of the Australian Open, which begins in Melbourne on Monday.

If she reaches round two, Ana will take on either Slovenia's Polona Hercog or Qiang Wang of China. 32nd seed Belinda Bencic of Switzerland could await in round three.

10th seed Ekaterina Makarova is Ana's most likely opponent in round four, while third seed Simona Halep is a potential adversary in the quarter-finals.

Second seed Maria Sharapova is a possible semi-final opponent.
