Ana moved into the third round of the BNP Paribas Open with a straightforward 6-1, 6-2 victory over 16-year-old American wild card Taylor Townsend.
Ana was in control of the match from the beginning, breaking the former junior world No.1 in her opening service games and surging into a 5-0 lead.
Although it was a comfortable victory for Ana, she wasn't at her best, as figures of 16 winners and 24 unforced errors depict. On a more positive note, Ana produced a first serve percentage of 60.
In round three Ana will take on Germany's 28th-ranked Mona Barthel.
