China Open draw

Ana has been drawn to face Christina McHale of the USA in the first round of the China Open, which begins in Beijing on Saturday. Ana has played the American once before: she beat her at the Olympics on grass earlier this year.

If she reaches round two Ana will take on either Varvara Lepchenko or Tsvetana Pironkova, while sixth seed Sara Errani could await in round three.

Ana's most likely opponent if she is to reach the quarter-finals is top seed and world No.1 Victoria Azarenka.

No.4 Petra Kvitova and No.8 Samantha Stosur are potential adversaries in the semi-finals.

The leading seeds in the bottom half of the draw, whom Ana cannot face until the final, are No.2 Maria Sharapova, No.3 Agnieszka Radwanska, No.5 Angelique Kerber and No.7 Na Li.
