Ana withdraws from Paris

Ana has withdrawn from the Open GDF Suez in Paris due to a left hip strain she suffered at the Australian Open. The 26-year-old was due to make her debut at the event, which takes place during 27 January-2 February.

"I’m really disappointed that I have to pull out of the Open GDF Suez in Paris," said Ana. "This has been my best start to a season for a long time. My confidence is high and I was excited to go there and try to challenge for the title.

"Unfortunately I’ve had some issues with both my hips this past month and I strained my left hip during the Aussie Open. I’m going to have to rest for a short time, in order to get healthy again.

"I am sorry to the supporters who were hoping to see me in Paris. I hope to see you soon. I know that the Paris field is very strong this year and I’m sure it will be a great event."

Ana expects to be fit in time for the Qatar Total Open in Doha, which begins on Monday 10 February.
