Ana takes on world No.95 Melinda Czink in the first round of the Australian Open on Monday. It will be the fifth meeting between the pair, with Ana leading the head-to-head series 3-1.
Ana boasts the ultra-rare distinction of having defeated Czink twice in the same tournament: as a 16-year-old Ana defeated the Hungarian in qualifying for the 2005 Canberra event; Czink entered the main draw as a Lucky Loser and Ana beat her in three sets in the final, to clinch her first ever WTA title.
The pair next met at Wimbledon in 2007 - the year Ana reached the semi-finals - where Ana triumphed 6-0, 7-6 in the first round.
In their most recent meeting, in Cincinnati in 2009, Czink prevailed 7-6, 7-5.
30-year-old Czink arrives in Melbourne on the back of a six-match losing streak, which was impacted by injury at the tail-end of last season. In her last outing Czink lost 6-2, 6-2 to Madison Keys in the first round of qualifying for this week's Apia International in Sydney.
13th seed Ana has a 3-1 win-loss record in 2013, having won her opening three matches at the Hyundai Hopman Cup, before losing in three sets to Anabel Medina Garrigues in the final.
The match is scheduled as the second of the night session and is expected to begin sometime after 9pm local time (11am Central European Time; 5am Eastern Time). Click here for live point-by-point scoring from Melbourne Park.
