Ana takes on world No.94 Kiki Bertens in the first round of the Australian Open on Monday. It will be the first meeting between the pair.
Dutchwoman Bertens is appearing in a Grand Slam main draw for only the eighth time in her career. Her win-loss record in majors is 2-7.
Aged 22, Bertens boasts victories over the likes of top 25-ranked players Dominika Cibulkova, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Simona Halep during the past two seasons. She is yet to play a main tour match this year, but won a total of three matches in qualifying for the Brisbane and Sydney events.
Ana is making her 10th appearance at Melbourne Park as a senior player. She has a win-loss record of 20-9 at Melbourne Park and has reached the fourth round in the past two editions of the event. In 2008 Ana was a finalist.
"I love being in Melbourne: it has to be my favourite time of the year," she said. "I had a great start to the season in Auckland and now it's about to continuing that form, building on it, and playing my best tennis at a Grand Slam."
The match is scheduled as the third of the day on Hisense Arena, and is expected to start sometime after 2.30pm local time (4.30am Central European Time; 10.30pm Sunday Eastern Time). Click here for live point-by-point scoring from Melbourne Park.
