Ana powers into Stuttgart final

Ana reached her third final of 2014 with a highly accomplished 6-3, 7-5 win over world No.8 Jelena Jankovic at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.

The 26-year-old attacked from the opening moments of the 89-minute match and ultimately had too much firepower for the fifth seed.

Ana's win extends her head-to-head record against Jankovic to 9-3, while she is now 9-2 for the year against top 20-ranked players.

Ana's serve was impressive today: she was broken just once. She clinched victory on her fourth match point "I'm definitely relieved," said Ana.

"The last game was a little bit of a drama. When she saved that match point when my ball hit the net cord, that was just an amazing point. But it was a great way to finish the match. I really tried to step in on the tight situations at the end - that's my game."

The world No.12 will take on four-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova in the final on Sunday, after Sharapova beat Italy's Sara Errani 6-1, 6-2.

The match is scheduled to take place at 2pm local time (8am Eastern Time). Click here for live point-by-point scoring from the Porsche Arena.
