Winning machine Ana reaches 6th final of year Sep 20th 2014

Ana surged into her sixth final of 2014 with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over world No.8 Angelique at the Toray Pan Pacific Open. In advancing to her second Tokyo final, Ana recorded her WTA-high 51st win of the season.

It was an indifferent start from Ana, with unforced errors flowing from her racket in the opening games. She was broken in the first game and later trailed 5-3: Kerber was the more consistent player.

By this point the match had already been twice interrupted by rain, the second intermission lasting around 40 minutes as the roof was closed.
